"In the end, we're all just humans... Drunk on the idea that love, only love, could heal our brokenness."

I’ve cried to that album more than any other human.
Something has crushed me.
My once loving inner mind cascaded in black,
Attending its own funeral
No one can know.

To be whole again,
Oh to be, what a romantic notion...
I’m five frames of f***ed up
And sanity is a distant dream.
No one can know.

The scars of my soul only visible in the darkness,
as if lit by blacklight.
The hints of war upon my body show through,
all too real.
No one can know.

To break free is the object of my affection
I want to run but am too slow,
I want to fly but lack wings,
I want to escape but am my own prisoner
Someone has to know.

This game of hide-and-seek I’m playing
It’s an arbitrary act.
Floating along my mind’s line
Away from civilization.
Someone has to know

When the wounds are closed,
And he screams are silenced
By no one who knew
Except the protagonist of this story,
You will heal.

It will happen gradually but
Your days will become golden
Your Heart will eat the darkness
Instead of letting it eat you

You will find someone to love you dry
They will figure out your mind
Maybe not all of it
But the most Whole parts
And they will kiss the Shattered

Not all of humanity will love your soul
You can hunt for their goodness
And never find anything
Become a warrior for your efforts
Happiness is far from an isolated cry,
And everything will get better.

I think the poem speaks for itself.
