Favorite Quote:
"She loved mysteries so much, she became one." Paper Towns by John Green

They say that we can achieve anything we want as long as we strive

They tell us to live this life for ourselves and mind others

They say that a dream can become a reality

They tell us that they will support us to reach our dreams

But still,

You there,

Authority.

Gives us the limitations and rules that are simply ridiculous

Gives us the idea of rebellion is bad

Gives us the cold shoulder whenever we do not do as you please

Gives us the difficult times when all that we have suffered is already killing us

Where is the freedom that they once promised to give?

Where is the mercy in the times we did wrong?

Where is the moral equality that we need most?

Where is the support that can lift us back from the ashes?

Oh the irony,

That I simply cannot bare.

The author's comments:

This is my first time ever writting a free verse peotry and I don't even know anyhing about poetry but I thought that I would give it a shot.

The meaning behind this poetry is, the irony of authority. Name any if you want, parents, teachers, guardiand, caretakers, lecturers, or anything alike really. It's funny how they tell us that we can be anything that we want but still, if it is something that they think it is unsuitable for us, they will do pretty much almost about everything to bring us down.

I mean i'm not saying that my dream is to do illegal things or commit crimes or anything, I want to pursue achievements in the world of performing arts, so why do they see it as something that will wreck me?

I know that my family background has no relation with the performing arts or entertainment industry but it is something that I have dreamed of ever since i was little, I have never been so sure of something for my whole life escept this.

But enough about me, whatever it is, every teenager has their own struggles with their dreams and dealing with the people that either encourage or discourage them, and I wish that all of us will have a bright future ahead. I want to leave a message saying that no matter what authority tells us what to do, we will become adults too one day and we will have the freedom to choose for us, just remind yourself that every decision has it's pros and cons so be prepare for the consequences but overall focus on the bright side :)
