My Life Goals Don't Amount Up To Much
I wanna feel my youth
Slip through my fingers.
I want to feel the sun’s embrace
And suffocate in the warmth that won’t last.
I want to listen to the dreams of others
And give them hope as they fail repeatedly.
If I were to go home
I would have to face my failures head on.
I am a coward.
And running is what we cowards do best.
Negativity is where I live but happiness…
Happiness is given to those who reach for it.
I am the one they reach to.
They take my happiness
But I don’t mind,
Because they are reaching to accomplish
And I...
I could never reach high enough.
I love being their stepping stool
Because when their silhouette
Begins to shine
In the light of a dying sun,
I can enjoy the view
And bask in their shadow.
My destiny never lead
To the light of day.
Darkness is where I stay
Because in the end
The dark is my home
And the light is my early grave.
