Getting better?
They shout it on the radio, the news, in the schools, and on the roads but do they know?
Do they know that it doesn't really help?
The noise they make to try and try to make me feel safe?
Safe at school, home, or in my neighborhood,
Being able to go anywhere or do anything without feeling a wave of guilt wash over me and my thoughts.
Some say it is to get attention and maybe they are right. The attention that we have been trying to get but fail so we are forced to mark ourselves as "depressed".
We hide them from others by our sleeves of shame,
Shove music in our brains to drown out the sounds that are around us,
We cuddle in our blankets of security,
Huddling with the friends that we have drawn close because they know.
They know that promoting it or shouting it at us that "you need help" or "it will get better" doesn't work!
They don't know though,
They don't know what we might be going through, they don't know they pain that is inflicted,
They don't know if it will get better.
