What about us?
What about it?

I rub the sleep away from my eyes
Sitting up awake hoping to forget last night’s cries

Somehow you managed to disassemble
My love (Our love) that we assembled

Don’t forget the stars we cried, the lies we told
The nights we stayed up, when it was all we could hold

Don’t forget it.
What is there to forget?

Listen to the screams, the sirens that were wailed
Listen to the outburst, our screams that you let go

Our love is just so all
Who am I to call?

When all you do…
Do you have no clue?

What about me?
Who?

The author's comments:
What inspired this piece, was the honest conversation I had with an individual. He felt as if he had no one in this world to lean on. However, I gladly stepped through his thick barrier to convince him that the bright day is not when the sun shines, but instead; when you decided to take of your sunblock and risk the burn.
