Simplicity
The soft squeak of her brakes comes to a halt
Slowly, but swiftly…she unbuckles herself
And lets her heavy October boots fall
On the loose July gravel
She slowly balances herself on the rail
Careful
Not to fall
Her black billowing dress
Starts to glide as the wind picks up
Her head spins
The clouds darken
Cars honk
And sirens are herd in the distance
But she stays put
Careful
Not to Fall.
She climbs the rail
And looks below at the roaring waters
Which then seem to pause
As if waiting…
Finally,
Careful
Not to Fall:
She lets go of the rail
As she slowly is set to sail
