A Smile: A Remedy
Toward a downward spiral, I’m pulled
Please, oh please just talk to me
Now I mingle to a wall like a fool
Crushed and fractured, thinking deeply
When problems arise, when friends tell lies
When defeat is certain, when promises are broken
When things get complicated, when you’re full of too much hatred
When secrets are revealed, when scars haven’t healed
When trouble finds you, when love bids you adieu
And finally when you don’t succeed
Remember that a smile is all we need
I’ve been looking at you for quite some time now
And if time permits I’ll forever wait
For that one special curve
That sets all things straight
You are all, big and small, that matter to me
Your lips may have to be the perfect remedy
So there you are, I see from a distance
I want my existence to be worthwhile
Then finally you looked and gave a glance
My day is made, thanks to your smile.
