Blue Country
On one dust sidewalk
A small child holds a balloon
While her father whispers on his blackberry
And her mother blankly stares
At the black road pavement
A man asks for change
He asks the father
-His finger points to the urgent call
He asks the mother
-Her hand waves the man away
Like a bee
Watching her parents
The small child grips her balloon tightly
As the man limps by
He only wears one shoe
The man doesn't even glance
At the small girl with the balloon
He no longer expects change
