boys can kiss your pretty lips
and you will think he is made of the stars
and your names will connect like pieces
to an imaginary puzzle
you will fold your heart into bits so small
and wrap it in a bow as a gift for him to keep
and he will place it in his back pocket
to carry forever
and you both never thought too much about anything
because you hated
the exhaustion of thinking
until he decided he hated
thinking about you
