The Battle
She lies in her bed
Trying to understand
What’s going on in her head
Because she’s searching
Searching for something that’s just out of her reach
Something that she’ll never get to keep
Something that she knows she really needs
She needs it more than anything
The doctor told her she needed to find the medicine herself
That he couldn’t offer her any more help
She was speechless
How could her own doctor turn on her like this?
When she needed him the most
He wasn’t there to help her through
This terrible battle that she’s going through
So ever since that day
The day she was diagnosed
She’s been searching for something that she knows
She will never find
Because she knows that her time
Is coming very soon
And she doesn’t know what to do
Because she strongly believed she could make it through
But now she’ll never see
So many amazing moments
Even though she understands that it is her time
She doesn’t want to say goodbye
Because even though the battle has nearly killed her
She wants to see so many things
And as she closes her eyes for the last time
She can finally let go
And be in a better place
