To believe in love?

Is it honestly that awful
To believe in faith and pixie dust?
Is it really so horrible
To believe in a thing called trust.
Is it really that awful
To want your friends to see the good?
Is it really that awful
To be a light
And stand out from gloom.
Is it honestly that awful
To believe in happy endings?
Is it really so horrible
To sometimes play pretending.
Is it really that awful
To be positive and bright?
Is it really that awful
To try to see the light?
Is it honestly that awful
To be the optimist?
Is it really so horrible
To not be a realist
