You remind me of the seasons.
You’re unpredictable, beautiful,
destructive, refreshing.
You’re harsh like the winter-
your voice frigid winds making my
skin shiver with intensity
and your eyes like fallen snow,
glistening and gleaming and glittering.
You’re erratic like spring-
your touch bringing everything to life
after an extended darkness
and your anger thunderstorms,
blinding and deafening us the closer it gets.
You’re bright like summer-
your laughter a school bell
releasing me to my freedom once again
and your sadness the scorching sunlight
leaving burns on my skin.
You’re relaxed like autumn-
your smile the fallen leaves
spreading beauty wherever it lands
and your kiss the cool breeze
tickling my lips and reminding me
you’re there always.
I love you
like I love every day of the year.
