Apology
River eyes,
Blue eyes, when they cry.
I see the pebbles in your stare.
They lie quiet,
On the riverbed,
But do not sleep.
Are they playing dead? I wonder
No, no they are merely playing
With your mind, with your heart,
Letting their words tear you apart-
Why do you stand on one shore, dear,
and I the other?
The pebbles are building a dam,
Dam it all, watch it fall,
The waters are raging.
Don’t look away now,
Take my hand now,
My dear.
Come back,
From the river,
Blue eyes, when they cry.
This river is a drowning one.
And I fear you will drown,
With it.
