Love Saga
Love doesn't sprout from watching someone pop pills
or choke down gooey medicine
It doesn't fall off the shelves of the ambulance
until it tumbles into your laps
during the bumpy ride to a hospital
No Nicholas Sparks novel ever started like this
It's too complicated to put into words
Like the Matrix
Or a Tarantino Movie
Their love is like a bird with clipped wings
It can't fly or grow
But it can stay where it is
Content
Her heart was a like a rock
Heavy, and weighing
Her eyes were like a cave
Dark all the lights having gone out
Soon even the strongest peace crumbles,
Crumbles like the dirt that you threw over her casket
Your toes hanging over the edge of the 6 foot grave
Your kids long gone their souls dead with their mothers
That's when every Coke you bought for her mattered
Her oxygen now just a machine collecting dust
The tears that used to fall from her eyes
Salty and thick
Would now be fresh drinking water
If you could only see them one more time
Your wings may no longer be clipped
but you know longer know how to use them
A bitter sweet ending to a love saga not yet written.
