Spencer
I close my eyes and I’m back
In your arms
Even though your hug
Only lasts for a moment
I can close my eyes and live there
Where it’s warm
I close my eyes and I can see
Your perfect face
The way your eyes light up when you smile
Each strand of hair gelled into place
If I concentrate I can hear your laugh
Smell the old spice you use
I soak it in like a sponge
All these little hints hidden
I’ve put them together to find
That when you’re sad you slouch your shoulders
You talk a little quieter like you believe
If you are loud, that makes the problems real
Sometimes I close my eyes
And see all your little quirks
Like little notes of a song that everyone
Fast forwards through
Because everything is fast paste, fast moving
Even our food is fast
But when I’m with you
The world slows down and
I like that; or should I say
I like you?
