The Runner
You steal me like a theif,
You showed me the light,
The light at the end of the tunnel.
This never ending tunnel,
Like a cold and depressing grave,
I'm running, unable to breathe.
Running from everything I am afraid of,
Trying to find the end,
Make it stop..
Breathe baby I tell myself,
Let me catch my breath.
I'm trying so hard.
Gasping and reaching for the outstreched hands of friends and family,
My grasp is not strong enough,
Pull me from the dark.
All this is doing is taking my breath away,
I'm sorry I'm cought in another mess,
A tangled vine that never ends, thorns at every corner.
So.. I beg, let me breathe,
Let me draw breath in and out of my lungs, my lively pink lungs,
Blackening from suffocation,
I'm dying.
Please.. give me life,
I'm begging you.
My lips chase yours,
They find each other in a stooper,
So I beg, breathe my air back.
Push air into my lungs,
Give me a fighting chance,
I'm not going to give up.
Suddenly I am no longer gasping,
I'm breathing, my lungs giving me life.
Breathe baby I tell myself.
You can stop running.
Your home.
