Like a Child
The house stands tall and abandoned,
yet the child asks, “Do you see the castle,
With a princess waiting for her prince?”
And though you may only see a shiny, new car,
the child sees it as a horse drawn carriage,
taking her away.
And the lone tree standing in the grass,
is the largest fort she’s ever had.
Do you see it?
If you don’t,
ask the child.
She’ll know.
