North Star
Like lines drawn in bold,
So was my future long ago,
When eyes laid first upon this angel, yes ‘twas you,
Knew I then, in that moment my life had been led askew.
Shaded across textured grain,
You have colored the crevices of my heart,
Perfecting all imperfections,
Beautifying all aspects of life, riding it of all pain.
You have oped my eyes to all beauty,
Like and artists nostalgic portfolio,
Looking back I see growth, because of you perhaps,
Pausing just for a minuet.
Fallen have I for you, like a million rough sketches before,
On the last attempt, you’ve become my masterpiece.
With no need for restoration, you’ve become,
The calm in my starry, starry night.
