Be Realistic
You shouldn’t tell me I’m special
It will only put ideas in my head,
and I’ll be so lost in the clouds
I won’t see where I’m going
You shouldn’t tell me I shine like a star,
because those stars have not worked
for millions of years at a time
just to be compared to me
You shouldn’t tell me I’m perfect
Why would you feel the need to lie?
I do not mourn what I will never be
and I truly never will
What you should tell me
is that you love my smile
because all I need for motivation
is just to hear your laugh
