Red Confessions

Whisper your secrets into a conch shell
and wait for the ocean waves to retrieve it.
Carve your confessions onto stones
and skip them across the still lake.
I’ll write my story on pieces of scrap
and send them off to the sea in a bottle.
I’ll write my dreams on helium balloons
and fly them across the galaxy.
Let’s not forget these feelings,
the feelings we can’t explain.
Let these feelings reach the one
on the other end of our red string of fate.
