Elders
Nothing is what we are in the eyes of our elders
We are flowers that haven’t even begun to blossom.
We are peasants in the eyes of nobles
and “rascals”, are what we are labeled.
Equality is what they sometimes forget.
Years of knowledge they contain from years ago,
but they don’t realize that we hold that knowledge
in our brains with less years and new knowledge combined.
“Kids”, are what they call us these days
They are the giants, they are the superior ones.
While we, “Kids”, are the specks of dust on the floor.
We are described as disrespectful, noisy, and disrupted.
But little do they know, we are more than just those things
In our brains we hold the key to the cure to cancer
In our brains holds a world unimagined by them
In our brains we hold the knowledge that the next
generation will be learning.
Before you tell us its a “Adult conversation” and to go shoo,
Remember we are people too.
