The Girl With Golden Eyes
She whispered her sweet symphony in my ear;
promises of warmth and ignorant bliss.
She enters my bloodstream with no resistance;
I merely flinch at the anticipation of her presence.
She's swimming through my veins, clouding my mind.
She drains me of my worries.
She takes away the pain.
Slowly, I drift.
In and out, in and out.
Consciousness eludes me.
My world goes black.
It is only in the dark that she truly reveals herself.
Like a thief in the night, she robs me of my will to live.
She takes everything I've got.
Her once sweet promises have turned into brutal demands.
I come to and I've lost everything.
She took it all; and my body waits for her inevitable return.
