The Jump
I love the water,
And the jump was lovely.
But I’m not a fish,
I can’t live in these waters.
But the swim back is near impossible.
Every now and then
I am offered help.
However I seldom let others see,
My struggle through the treachery.
Either way I hardly let others aid me.
I would so much as drown,
Than let others know what’s in the current.
The current pulls me back,
And I lose all progress that I’ve made.
Sometimes I give myself up.
Just to go back for a while,
Maybe be to catch a glimpse of the past.
But all I find is the current.
Treading water was fun and easy.
Alas I was never truly taught to swim,
So I've taught myself.
I've grown stronger through the struggle,
Strong enough for now.
