My Special Kind of Knowledge
My Special Knowledge
In a world of flying colors
Where there are pictures, books and numbers
Everybody has a place
Everybody has a space
They have somewhere to be
Everybody has a reason, a purpose or maybe a dream
Everybody has a place
Everybody has somewhere to be
They have problems
They have friends
They had memories to keep
And cellphones that beep
They have struggling parents
And maybe happy ones
They have gossip and whispers
And maybe not so much
They have things to do and places to be
They have classes and books and geometry
They have boyfriends and girlfriends
They have best friends and such
They have drama and posters
They just have so much
If only I could tell them
How much they really have
To be so young inside
To be so alive
If only I could tell them how lucky they truly are
To be so naive and young at heart
If only I could tell them they really had it all
Because living their lives is the biggest gift of all
If only I could tell them what it was like to be me
If I could say one thing to every single kid
If I could shout out let them all know what it all is really about
I guess I would tell them
Everything that is so huge right now
It’s actually really small
The who said what and the who did who
Is really just little quibbles in the stalls
Not that crazy at all
If I could just tell them that this life they have no matter how bad is
A Miracle
I’d like to express my knowledge to all
And say you are great no matter how small
You will in fact effect the lives of many
Even if you can’t see it
Even if you can’t believe it
Everybody has a place
Everybody has a space
Everybody has somewhere to be
Everybody has something
Everybody has a verse, a poem a road not taken
We all have this huge map of choices laid out before us
And so no matter what you decide
You are affecting a billion lives
Every post you make
Every step you take
It’s all important
It’s all a place and a space
It’s something
It’s all something you gotta be
Now this is not a cheesy poem and a cute little rhyme
With my knowledge I gave you
I’m telling you to ask yourself this question
Ask others if you must
This is serious not cute
This is real not a joke
Ask yourself now not latter
Ask it today
Ask it this very moment
Decide to decide every moment now
Is this really what you want…
Is this how you want to be spending this moment?
Your life
This is it my friends
Every single second is ticking by
I am harshly stating this fact you will one day die
You’ll be placed in the ground or flown out as ashes into the sky
But you won’t be here
And we don’t really know where we go
So how do you want to remember it?
How do you want to go?
So I’m going to ask you just one more time…right here in this moment
Is this how you want to be remembered
Because though living is important.
Just take a look at the bigger picture
