Proverbs 15:33 <br /> The fear of the LORD teaches wisdom. Before honor is humility.

Adversity...
Do we look it in the eyes
Or hide away our cries
Should we fake a glorious leap
Or accept our tragic defeat
Do we refuse the acceptance of its hallows
Or shy away in the darkness of its shadows
We do not lose to our opponent
We lose to ourselves, so own it
We are a great team
And our loss comes from no creme de la creme
Our disappointment comes from regret
Wishing their we're one more moment, one more set
So the blame is not for the ones between the lines
The blame is within, showing fear no signs
Even though there is darkness around,
Our hearts are blinded by the sound
We cannot see, think, or hear with earnesty
For our minds are controlled by adversity

I wrote "an Athlete's Defeat" thinking about my team's loss in the second round of playoffs. It was one of the saddest moments because something was so close to being in your grasp, but then it all fell apart.
