Experiment
your fingertips trail along my side causing
constellations to erupt beneath my skin
reacting to the occurrence of a long-awaited touch
faintly, they skip like pebbles across a pond
tentative and hesitant, soft and gentle
I am watching a movie with my eyes shut tight
a silver screen plays on the backs of my eyelids
deep hues of magenta, dripping scarlet red
the warm colors of our lips colliding
too much saliva, too much tongue in the mixture
yet our chemistry experiment does not explode
instead, it swells. it rises up up up
something new has been created
something that smells like sweat and cinnamon
tastes like bubblegum, looks like goosebumps
so, we place it on the shelf, and call it "love"
