Titles are overrated
The rain drips longingly
The short life of a rain drop
Staining and blurring my window
I lean my face against my hand
And watch the water plummet
In a steady stream
Behind dark lashes
My eyes see the world
The honking of cars on New York streets
The rushing of men and women
Not talking, not observing
To busy trying to reach thier destinations to notice just about anything
The dark clouds drift aimlessly through a pool of gray storm
Content with its life as a cloud
The shouts and whispers of the world fill my head
My mind
My ears
My eyes
The world spins on and on
And I sit at my window
Watching and listening
