The day is mine
The night of the 8th is fading
And soon morn will come
18 years of age, soon and
The heart will stop the drum.
Don’t forget the innocence
That once you used to have
Don’t forget the memories
The years that all went bad
Don’t forget what was said
And the people that you met
Don’t forget their faces
And don’t forget their threats
For now, I say, good riddance
To the years that I’ve gone through
For now, I’ll welcome adulthood
And what it can lead to.
