The Little Girl
She sat in her room writing stories
And drawing pictures
Ignoring the yelling
Ignoring the tears stinging her eyes
Daddy was drunk again
Mommy was yelling
She heard a loud SLAP!
And mommy crying
Then she heard BANG! BANG!
And sirens
But she didn't know what happened
A man came in and asked
"Are you okay?"
She nodded
Then they took her far away
Some place else
With a new Mommy and Daddy
And lots and lots of siblings
But the little girl always thought
Of her real Mommy
Of her real Daddy
And the BANG! BANG!
