I Miss You
I miss you like I miss my childhood blanket.
I miss you like the Kyo plush that I lost.
I miss you like I miss my trip to Disney.
I miss you like I miss my DS that was stolen.
I miss you like my favorite shirt that no longer fits.
I miss you like the shoes that are too worn out to use.
I miss you like I miss being all dressed up at prom.
I miss you like a night of drinking with friends.
I miss you like my favorite food after I’ve eaten it.
I miss you like I miss my favorite holiday after it’s over.
I miss you like I miss the snow when it has melted.
They’re items I’d love to regain.
And memories I’d love to relive.
But they’re gone and so are you.
So we march on.
And hold on to that which is dear.
But we move on because life goes on.
