"Once social justice begins, it cannot be reversed. You cannot uneducate the person who has learned to read. You cannot humiliate the person who feels pride. And you cannot oppress the people who are not afraid anymore." -Cesar Chavez

Like a drop shatters the silence of the water still
Those words collapsed the world
And for a second, my body refused to move
Then, quick as I could, I ran away
Towards the woods
Those words pounding into my head
And wet tears flowing
Burning my eyes, and blinding me
As I stumbled from tree to tree
But I knew I could not escape the pain
Of those heartless words
They would forever remain with me
