Days of Sadness

Once upon a time, but not too long ago
doom and gloom, and many bad things were here
tales of truth and happiness were lies
and only the days of sadness were true
but as I have grown older, wiser I have become
to realize that truth lies within,
and only the days of sadness were left to break.
Now here we are, watching the stars
awaiting our finale, the event of it all
when will it end, we wonder in awe
but as we both know, truth be told
the days of sadness have gone...
but so have I
