After You
You watched my actions which told you to stay.
More than you listened to my words that told you to free me.
You knew those tears weren’t for you; but about you.
Not only did I lose you, I lost myself as well.
My broken heart finally shattered onto the floor of my chest.
Loving you killed me.
But leaving you destroyed me.
My laughter was as real as fairytales, but my cries were as fake as I am.
You kept my hopes high, so when I would fall;
I would fall hard.
Or would I just fall endlessly.
You told me to stop hurting myself, when that was all you did to me.
As much I want to, I can’t get over you.
Cause I just loved you too much to forget.
Even though the memories still cause my empty chest to hurt.
