I'm trapped,
drowning under water,
unable to breathe that fresh air or see that colored sky.
All that I see is darkness, surrounding my body like my winter jacket.
Suffocating me, like a mask over my face.
I am shielded, protected from the world.
I am like a baby bird ready to leave the nest.
Set me free and let my true colors shine.
Do not hold me back, I will break the barriers that are keeping my chained up inside.
