My Guilty Conscience
How can guilt drag you down,
farther tahn the look on their face,
the look of a rock,
hard, rigid, and lonely.
So distant,
that it seems you are but a blot
on their horizon.
Yet you feel every glance
Like a blow from a lance
Hard and unyielding,
knocking you down,
farther than you've already fallen.
How can you smile,
When all you feel is hurt,
their hurt,
caused by your selfish mind?
How can you be free?
YOu can't,
I mean I can't.
My guilt pushes me down
almost past my limit
All I feel is my burning shoulders,
my yearning heart,
And my mind learning
That I am nothing,
worthless,
terrible.
Yet you see me
even if all I wish is to be,
Invisible.
