Glasses Not Needed
These eyes of mine
must be fractured,
because what they see
can change at the fall of a raindrop
Sights emit colors
that change from bright to dark
The spectrum fluctuates
and leaves me guessing the original shade
Sometimes everything becomes shadowed
and I can’t pick out a speck of color
through all the dull,
muggy gray
Other times my world is blinded
by colors so bright
and magnificent
that I can hardly see where I am going
Then there’s a state of neutrality,
where I can see all of the colors,
sharp and soft,
mesmerizing with their contrast
But to be honest,
I like being overwhelmed by color
Because I ride it like a wave
and let it lead me on
