Let You Lead Me
You wrap me in your gentle words
and lead me towards the light
It is glowing and magnetic,
but I am still afraid
Your palm is callused,
radiating a warmth
I have never felt,
But heard of countless times
The smile you gave me is overwhelming
and nearly makes my knees buckle
but if I let you lead me into the light,
I will become blank
All my shadows and broken pieces of purity
will be gone
I am not sure who I would be
without them
I could do great things
or make mistakes
Your complete faith in me
is something I didn’t want to lose
So I will march forward
and let the future greet me
because it’s in your eyes
that I see hope
