Mirror & Illusion
A mirror stands mounted on your wall
So shiny and clear it seems to be glass
but your face is always reflected back.
You face smiles, yet it doesn't reach your eyes
And you try your hardest
but your smile fades,
Replaced by the frown of frustration.
Your brow wrinkles
and your mirror becomes dirty
Your reflection becomes hidden
and your mirror cracks.
But out bursts a shining, smiling, face
One that erases your frustrations,
and turns your frown around,
But then you realize that,
you were wrong.
And your reflection is goen.
So all that is left is....
Your Daughter
She broke out of your hold,
Her smile is new
and the heart she earned is bigger
Than yours ever was.
So she is the fairest of them all
Her humanity shines through
the angelic shell she wears
And through it all
She is still your Daughter,
Brave and True
and fairer than YOU.
