Being Hurt
Ouch,
that feeling of being stabbed in the chest,
hundreds of times.
By a knife covered in betrayal, lies, and rejection.
Doubling over in pain,
blinded by the fuzziness your falling tears create.
And suddenly it’s like everything is happening right here, right now.
Every hurt. Every moment.
And it’s being thrown at you,
Over and Over and Over.
You wonder to yourself, “why me?”
but there is no answer.
So you just wait for the scars to heal over,
just enough so you can catch a breathe.
Maybe even learn to love again,
with walls 10 times higher than when you began.
Hang in there because it’s rough now,
but it will get better.
