shredded heart

I risked it all
confessed my love
risked my heart
wanting it not to be torn apart
I proved myself
I rose to my feet
Got out of my little corner
Told me he loved me all along
When I look back
What was I scared of
Was it rejection
Was it fear of my heart being shredded
I didn't want my heart scattered on the ground
I know he loves me
He tells me I am beautiful
The kiss of a fallen angel
They clipped his wings
when he dropped cracked
A few ribs
torn up a little inside
I can see it in his eyes
That's what he cant see in mine
