Heartbreak
Heartbreak,
an emotion we all feel, wether young and naive or old
and in love.
It hurts.
Ripping through your body at the speed of light.
And not just your heart, but your soul.
Suddenly every bone, every muscle, every joint is weak.
Yet your heart races a mile a minute,
as if running towards something-or away from
something.
Your stomach feels as if it constantly needs to empty itself.
Needs to release itself of everything your mind refuses to forget.
And even with all this happening,
you can’t move.
You are paralyzed with pain.
So you wait for the numbness to take over,
and hope it brings with it the tiniest bit of strength.
To start this cycle all over again,
because love and heartbreak are the two emotions that
both kill us,
and give us the passion to live.
