Never Again
I'm spent, done, over.
It's so
tedious
so worrisome,
too much of a burden
to continue on.
This process has changed me
forced me into the mold
of a bitter person
that I never wanted to be.
I'm begging for a break,
a light
at the end of the tunnel,
but it looks as though
the only way out
of the empty abyss
is back through this
twisted maze
and straight back into the heart
of all those I've wronged.
All I want
is my life back.
The bright one
with giggles
hide and go seek
mommy and daddy
smiling, saying
"I'm so proud."
I want the life back
where I still believed
in Santa and the Tooth Fairy and
You.
