In the very last second
It's all well and good that we each receive a pat on the back
and a special sticker
so that we all may know that we're destined for greatness
and that we're important bags of bones, meant to reach the heavens and stop the earth right in its tracks.
But in the very last second,
before the world completely implodes leaving nothing but dust,
you will realize that the dust swimming through the air of the aftermath
will be your bones and your hopes and your dreams.
We are specks of dust in the never ending universe.
And it is nice to glitterize our sneeze worthy makeups
but we are just specks of dust in the never ending universe.
