Swallowed

It gave me great satisfaction
That I swallowed today
I swallowed my pride
I swallowed my lunch
I digested my pain
Though it hurt way too much
It gave me great sadness today
That nobody noticed
I was finally happy
I was finally alive
I would still be breathing
I would still be alive
I felt that I was okay today
That I could go on
I have a new reason
A new way to breathe
And I wasn't abandoned
I didn't have to leave
