'Its funny how the people we remember least make the biggest impression on us'

No longer a boy I see,
but a man in his place
with a serious, yet nervous
look on his face.

His uniform all neat,
not a hair out of place
holding his hat, bag
and case.

It's nearly time
sadly I see
not a boy anymore
but a man, finally.

I have started to read quite a lot of war poetry recently and I was inspired, by the raw emotion and how something so simply written can portray so many emotions. I wanted to keep this poem quiet simply written as I think the emotions are quite clear threw the words and the tone of the poem.

I love this poem! It just shows how fast people can grow up! This is so simple yet beautiful. Wonderful job!
