Summer
I HATE summer days,
The sun beating down on me,
And I HATE summer's ways
of raising the humidity.
But when the sun sets on a cloudless sky
And the moon takes it's place
I remember the reasons why
I bear those summer days.
For when I look up from the cool, cool grass,
And stare for hours at the speckled black
The world I see through broken glass
I forget behind my back
So while I HATE summer's fight
To keep me locked indoors,
I LOVE summer nights,
And what they hold in store.
