Dear Best Friend
Dear Best Friend,
As my last breath departed from my lips,
I made a dying wish for you.
Remember when we were young and I stole your favorite hat?
You were upset.
You cried until I cried
and until I gave it back.
Do you recall the moment I found out I was moving?
It was a gloomy day.
I could not see the sun through the black clouds;
but you ended up finding the right spot where the sun would first peek through.
Do you remember that time you had to remind me of who I was?
It was when you were sick
and all I could do was hold your dying hand.
But through your eyes,
I could see the real me.
As my tired eyes shut for the last time,
I hope one day you will know how much you’ve done;
even though we are about to meet again.
Sincerely,
Best Friend
