Mentor or Messenger
I wish that someone would just say
“you know, it’s perfectly okay
to feel as if you don’t belong.
Remember, you’re already strong.”
“One day this will all be behind,
a simple memory in your mind.
So try to find the brighter side,
to counteract the tears you’ve cried.”
“You will get through these tougher times.
We all know that it’s hard sometimes.
So smile when you’re ‘bout to break,
and be happy for your own sake.”
I will pass this message along,
singing over Life’s tragic song.
And though I may not hear it back,
small light will twinkle through the black.
