Where We Go
The sky reflecting back at me,
the moon suspended above trees.
Tires grounding down on the road,
the car carting the heavy load.
Taking us away from our home,
fear surrounding us like a dome.
To a new life we're going,
one without yelling, screaming, and throwing.
Rain beating down like our memories,
thoughts swarming in our minds like bees.
We are running away from our past,
to save our souls we must go fast.
One last glance through the rainy window,
now look ahead to where we go.
