Midnight Melody
The leaves rustle silently,
A few crickets chirp nearby.
The trees form a thick canopy,
While the moon lights up the sky.
It’s filled with dreary clouds,
And the sky is a midnight blue.
Everywhere around is to be seen a vivid, dusky hue.
Strange creatures are to be heard everywhere,
And raindrops fill the moist air.
An owl hoots in the distance,
Announcing its presence.
The stars above shine with dignity,
And so does the moon.
A coyote howls in the distance,
It is clearly late noon.
The night sings its haunting song,
Compelling everything around to sing along.
The composer of this melody is the moon,
Which guides it throughout the night.
And when it is time for sunrise,
It leaves without a fight.
